Wisdom Fair

Breaking the Chains

Knowledge changes when people don't just hear it—they experience it.

In 2024, MajhaMajhi launched Wisdom Fair as part of the Breaking the Chains project, funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) through the High Commission of Canada in Bangladesh.

The project set out to answer two questions:

What does sexual violence do to the human mind?
And how do we help people understand trauma beyond statistics?

How do our experiences continue living inside us?

Instead of organizing another awareness campaign, we created a two-day experiential knowledge fair where psychology, art, theatre, and storytelling came together.

Visitors explored interactive installations that explained trauma, emotional regulation, and social conditioning. Through art, they experienced how invisible wounds shape our relationships, behaviours, beliefs, and sense of self.

The fair featured:

  • Interactive art installations

  • Shadow work experiences

  • Theatre performances on the psychological impact of sexual violence

  • Comedy as a tool for difficult conversations

  • Creative learning spaces that transformed complex psychological concepts into lived experiences
